Administrative assistants and secretaries perform a variety of administrative and clerical functions necessary to effectively run an organization. They serve as information and communication managers for an office; plan and schedule travel and appointments; organize and maintain correspondence and electronic files; oversee projects; conduct research; and disseminate information by using phone, mail services, Websites, and email. They also may handle meetings and special events.
