Amazon announced Monday its plans to hire 7,000 new employees in the U.S. with most of them paying above retail average wages and benefits. These full-time positions are said to include 5,000 warehouse jobs that pay 30% higher than positions in other stores. The company is also searching for 2,000 customer service associates.

Amazon.com, Inc. is headquartered in Seattle, Washington and is the world’s largest online retailer. Jeff Bezos incorporated the company in 1994 and the website went online in 1995 selling DVDs, CDs, video, electronics, video games, and pretty much anything else you can think of. Now, taking in revenues of more than $1 billion annually, it has become a very competitive employer for many job seekers globally. Currently housing roughly 88,400 employees, Amazon has added 32,000 staff in just the past year alone. This might come as no surprise with the high demand for online shopping nowadays.

If you are currently looking for a full or part-time job and would like to apply at Amazon, you will need to register for an account, have a current resume ready, and proceed online with your application. Happy job-hunting and good luck!
